Derry Moroney’s photographs of a receding lake

Do you have any experience with “Tree of Life” phenomena? Australian photographer Derry Moroney recently got some magnificent images of this extraordinary scene that occurred on Lake Cakora in New South Wales.

Derry claims that the “Tree of Life” formed after heavy rains and unfavorable weather forced the lake to rupture and lose the majority of its water. At the same time, a nearby lake overflowed into Lake Cakora, resulting in this breathtaking picture resembling a forest.

Derry has been pursuing his interest for photography for the past three years. He draws inspiration from the way that nature can assemble the materials into stunning works of art. Derry remarked, “I love seeing areas from above that most people don’t. I also like to share with others my particular worldview.

Derry used a DJI Mavic Air 2 drone to take these breath-taking pictures. He described the area as having a dystopian vibe and finds it fascinating because, despite having been photographed there for six months, it changes every time he goes.

Derry’s photographs of the “Tree of Life” phenomenon are a must-see if you haven’t already. They serve as a reminder of nature’s amazing ability to forge stunning sights that astound us.
