The tattoo artist Ngoc believes all women are beautiful and does not want anyone struggling with their marks. She gives each client the attention and attention they deserve.
Her skill and attention to detail are so impressive that, once the design is completed, you won’t be able to discern a scratch there.
Ngoc has pushed the boundaries with her work, especially considering tattoos have been stigmatized in Vietnam for quite a while.
In the past, tattoos were viewed as a negative because of their connection to prisoners and association with criminal organizations. But the times have changed, and perceptions are (slowly) changing.
The artist began Ngoc Like Tattoo in 2012, just when she turned 19. In 2015, her venture began to take off, and she increasingly gained more attention online. Ngoc is a multifaceted knowledge of art.
She came to my studio on the long drive from Ha Giang to Ha Noi to get a tattoo. She explained that the 15cm scar was when she was injured in an accident, breaking the bones in her arm. We don’t want to leave an injury on their body, and she attempted cutting scars and sewing them. However, it was more significant, she even tried deflation, but it just temporarily flattened and was still extremely dark. Then she considered having a tattoo done to conceal the scar. Therefore, I created an elegantly shaped flower that makes it more modern and contemporary and minimizes the invasive area to prevent it from becoming more prominent.
She was valedictorian of Costume Design in 2015. She also received a master’s qualification in Motion Pictures Arts and Television from the University of Theater and Performing Arts of Hanoi in 2022. In the year 2018, she was featured in the Forbes 30-Under-30 Asia list.
The accident happened ten years ago that left a significant injury on her leg. Tragically, it was caused by a drunk driver who struck her motorcycle from behind; she was shocked and didn’t know exactly what was happening. The unfortunate incident caused her leg bones to break in the middle, and she was taken-by-ambulance to the hospital. I hope this tattoo makes her life a joyous experience for all and full of happiness.
As per her website, she was educated as a professional artist and designer at one of the top art schools in Vietnam. “I experienced a variety of opportunities during my career; however, after a variety of experiences, it became clear to me that covering marks by tattoos is a passion I want to maintain and be a part of,” she writes.
