20 Images of Japanese People intoxicated Show the Negative Aspects of Drinking

-

Few people have seen this intriguing photo series, which provides an alternative view of Japanese culture.

Even though Japan has one of the lowest rates of crime and one of the greatest life expectancies in the world, its people still know how to have a good time. The photographs below, taken by Lee Chapman, demonstrate this.

According to Bored Panda, Chapman founded the Tokyo Times and is a British photographer originating from Manchester. He came in 1998 with the intention of remaining for “a year or two,” but he never went.

A new aspect of Japan that few of us have seen is revealed in the fascinating collection of photos that follow. Most people think of sushi, creative ideas, and Hello Kitty when considering a trip to the country. These pictures of inebriated excess provide a more realistic and subdued reality that has the power to completely change your perspective.

It goes without saying that other people like having a good time as much as Japanese citizens do. But the show also highlights some of the risks associated with binge drinking. In contrast to marijuana, which tends to give people the “munchies” and make them reflect on life, alcohol can alter a person’s mood and even cause alcohol poisoning, which can be fatal. The following series merits thought and contemplation, since one is allowed in most countries while the other is not.
